I thought the new patent was great, but I wonder why the market disregards it. Lets see what they take into the clinic and also what kind of deal if any they can make with I-Prex and Mycoprex. LLY just generated $1.6 billion getting out of a costly mistake. Just another large player with funds that might be redeployed in the biotech sector. Don't see how the Hoechst merger will help biotechs. It may hurt as they relook at their combined relationships and sort out those which can be terminated. Trying to meld the two companies should also slow down looking at new partnerships or agreements.
