Flan - The fact that AMAT could report a 50+ drop in revenues year over year and 80+ drop in net income, an eye popping 8% erosion in margins and a drop in backlog in a quote "uncertain" business environment" and yet still be a buck or two from its 52 week high and people on this thread saying it is a buy and undervalued - Wow throw value investing out the window with this crowd. Sorry AMAT will probably go up tom but it is related to the insanity of this market not the stock.

Was it equally absurd when, in early 96, they were showing record revenues and orders and yet the stock was 70% off its highs? The answer is this is to some degree a cyclical so its price tends to lead its revenues both up and down.

PS I agree that the stock is short term risky now, but a lot less so than it was back in February at the same levels.
