Richard,
I guess that the point was that I could not see a valid reason for the stock to drop other than the fact that some people over reacted when a broker down graded the stock. The stock "SANG" was in fact upgraded by another firm at the same time.

I admit that I was not following any of the TA rules that I am trying so hard to learn, but at the time, I thought it was the best thing to do. I have never used stop losses since most of the times the stocks that I purchase are not all that volatile. I will check with Waterhouse and see if they allow a user to have stop loss transactions. Normally, I totally agree with you about the 8-10% range, but I broke my rule today.
