Is Amazon's stategy now to become the modern-day "Sears and
Roebuck" catalog of the web? If you follow this analogy,
the only real advantage they have over Sears is their
catalog can be updated instantly. But can't Sears/WalMart/Kmart
put their catalogs on the Web too, and what is the barrier to
entry to keep Sears/WalMart/Kmart or any existing, *profitable*
business from doing that?

Waldeen

All three are already on the net and offer far more products than AMZN. The books and videos at Walmart are far cheaper than AMZN. I did not compare music. I cannot compare the thousands of other items Walmart has on their site to AMZN because AMZN does not have these items.

I just don't get these net stock valuations.....
waiting to order my next Maytag washing machine from Amazon,

I do not get it either.
