I think people are missing the point. Amazon and Yahoo really are not competing with each other in that Amazon will sell goods and Yahoo just provides a search service to show vendor prices. I use Yahoo all the time to price books and find that Amazon meets or beats the price. The point is that Amazon doesn't lose business because Yahoo provides this information. In fact it probably increases their sales in that if Amazon is the same price as another unknown vendor, chances are they will go with Amazon due to the brand identity. Also Amazon provides much more reader feedback and info from the author and critics. Taken together, there is no reason to think Yahoo is in competition with Amazon on this issue.
