This is a big time ruling against Microsoft. Not only will it have to comply with Sun's Java in it's browsers, Microsoft will also have to alter Visual J++, which according to Microsoft is the best selling Java development software. My pal uses it, and I belive that I've read estimates that 50% to 80% of large enterprise users are developing with Java. It is possible that all his code may have to be recompiled, possibly rewritten. Microsoft has already indicated they will comply. Even if the injunction is later reversed it will scare off developers from using Microsoft Java. Sheech, what a pain for all those who went with Microsoft. Microsoft will probably have to cut him another version of the software. Big victory for Sun. Remember the saying "No one gets fired for buying..."?
