Mel Fox, COSTCO travel has contracts with two different vendors. This applies to the folks living in the San Francisco bay area. (They may or may not have the same arrangement for other states/cities.) One vendor is responsible for office hours (pacific time) and the other one is for after hours and weekends. Since I called on the weekend I got connected to CAPITOL PRESTIGE TRAVEL (CPT), INC via COSTCO 800 number.
Obviously, CPT is responsible for what happened in my case. The frustrating part is that the way you have to literally listen to the music for half an hour to get through to CPT and the way they handle the case. I reported all my frustration to COSTCO travel via email about two weeks ago and yet to receive an answer.
By the way I didn't save any money as I was getting the same deal from another travel agency but decided to go with COSTCO brand name.
Thanks for responding to my message.
