Micron Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ:MUEI), the third largest direct
computer systems company, today announced that Michael Gale has been
named to the new position of Vice President of Business Development.
Gale will be responsible for working with Micron's management team to
develop and drive the implementation of the company's growth strategy.
This corporate growth strategy will focus on increasing Micron's
penetration in existing markets, as well as building its business with
the mid-market customer segment. Gale will report to Micron chairman
and CEO Joel Kocher.
Prior to joining Micron, Gale was Vice President of Brand and
Market Analysis for IntelliQuest in Austin, Texas. In this role, he
headed the Marketing Consulting and Analysis Group and developed
strategic and marketing models for technology brands. Intelliquest is
the leading provider of information-based marketing services serving
technology companies. Gale's accomplishments at Intelliquest, as well
as his columns in industry publications such as Marketing Computers
and Hard Copy Observer, have earned him the reputation as a technology
branding and marketing expert.
