Agree. SFAM is a niche player without the muscle to horn in on the Big Kahuna's critical mass: sales force, financing deals, total package solutions. Why be more of the same by acquiring another niche player, especially one that is struggling to make it thru this down part of the cycle. But consider a KLA, a Novellus, a Teradyne. The former two are replenishing their market cap with the perception of a rebound. AMAT's earnings yesterday---beating expectations, albeit lowered ones-- may bring the sector forward again and enhance the buying power of the top tiers. Maybe. One thing, imo, that is not a maybe is that these guys need to offer a CMP component to their product mix..quickly. L
