Cheeky Kid: While not agreeing or disagreeing with Jim's statement to the effect that there have been *no problems* with mortgage calc systems, wouldn't a good starting point for this be to have Jim post the source of his "these applications seem to be working fine and nobody's mortgage has miscalc'd" info? Just a thought; not saying he's not correct (and I hope he is) but wondering how the conclusion was drawn. Working in the financial industry, I have heard several org's say that the current version of their loan systems was not Year 2000 ready (but there is a Year 2000 ready ver. ready to replace those in most cases).

...Tim (not a Y2k "expert" but interested in cutting through to what's *real* wherever possible. Seems best done as a group effort so I appreciate this thread.)
