FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VIDEO STREAM INTERNATIONAL, INC., NAMES MICRONET TECHNOLOGY AS A PARTNER IN DEVELOPMENT OF BREAKTHROUGH ROUTERLESS NETWORK TECHNOLOGY

NASD-BB “VSTM”

August 7, 1998

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA.
Over the last few days, Video Stream International has come forward to reveal a working partnership with MicroNet Technology in the implementation of VSI's new routerless real-time communications network for its TeraCom product line. The TeraCom technology, which has been called “revolutionary” by insiders has been described as “a complete and supported solution that provides the first real-time, point to multi-point interactive multimedia-based communications capability.
According to Paul Cox, VSI President, “the technology team at VSI is currently in the completion stages of a product that provides a superior communications network, with routerless technology, offering the ultimate in cost effectiveness and reliability.”According to Grant Holcomb, VSI Chief Technology Officer, “TeraCom completely eliminates the need for routers, which translates into tremendous bottom-line advantages for business. For one thing, it cuts about eighty percent of the capital cost of building a network. It also eliminates latency, complexity, and support labor costs for the network.”
Said Barry Wong, Director of US Sales for MicroNet, “We couldn't be more enthusiastic about VSI's TeraCom product, with its total interactive multimedia communications solutions. In fact, the technology is so superior to anything on the market that we are wholeheartedly recommending it to our customers.”
The DataDock 7000 was selected by VSI after it passed a series of stringent tests. VSI's storage requirement for the TeraCom product line included simultaneous high sustained transfer rates, high capacity, remote diagnostics, redundancy, and fault tolerance. Holcomb went on the explain that, “The critical factors for us in the development of the TeraCom communication network was our desire to offer a vastly superior product lower in cost, more reliable, and more
scalable than any existing communications network technology.”
According to Holcomb, “In order to ensure the durability and maximum reliability of the TeraCom product, we have stress-tested the MicroNet
hard disk drive arrays 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the past 5 months. We have not experienced a single hard drive failure, even when the drives were intentionally placed, on a regular basis, in a
plus-100-degree environment.”
The DataDock 7000 is a high-end 0/1/3/5 RAID solution whose innovative design makes it an ideal storage solution for any networked application.

Each DataDock 7000 features capacities of up to 108 GB on-line plus a hot spare. DataDock 7000 drive modules lock into a 7-bay, innovatively-engineered chassis that is available with differential or
single-ended SCSI host interfaces. DataDock 7000 is ideal for users who require flexible, reliable, and high-performance RAID solutions with transfer rates up to 80 MB/sec for mission critical service applications for network, video, OPI, File, and Internet environments.
Continued Wong, “Video Stream established very demanding and leading edge requirements for the TeraCom product. We are very pleased that our DataDock product line, which has often been called, ‘over engineered,'met the high standards for Video Stream's innovative technology.”
