Here's info on MDI-P as an antibacterial agent:

In April, Medical Discoveries completed a series of preliminary studies evaluating MDI-P as a potential broad spectrum antibacterial agent. Conducted at the UCLA (University of California, Los Angelos) Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, the studies demonstrated the ability of MDI-P to completely kill in vitro (outside of the body) several types of antibiotic resistant bacteria including E. Coli, methicillan-resistant Staphylococus aureus, and vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus aureus. E. Coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis represents the three most common causes of hospital acquired bacterial infections.
