Seems to me, Microvision is the de facto future standard:

Yes, I expect other kids to try and steal Microvision's ball but it is, in my humble opinion, getting harder to do so - all the time.
Microvision has already had to deal with wannabes, and prevailed, so far. All important patents are locked up, and I expect future ones will be as well.
This is not a major concern for me, but hey, what do I know?
