LT, one of the points of the rate cuts was to weaken the dollar and make our exports cheaper and imports more expensive. The trade deficit will, of course, get worse at Xmas as we spend our stock market profits on toys that kids break the same day. <G>

And, this deficit, while not a new record, was humungous.
