Siemens makes 1-Gbit SDRAM with 0.18-micron process

Don't know if this is done with x-ray lithography, but it would be good publicity for XRL if it is.

.......The 1-Gbit SDRAM will be available in organizations of x-16 and x-32 with DDR functionality, which enables the memory to achieve a data rate of 400 Mbits per second per pin. The 1Gbit SDRAM was jointly developed with IBM Corp. at the U.S. company's Advanced Semiconductor Technology Center in East Fishkill, N.Y.

Siemens said samples packaged in 16-mm-wide TSOP 88 will be available in the second quarter 1999.
