I bought my QCOM stock and phone the same day (Dec. 31) and have been happy with both. I live in Dallas so I also deal with PrimeCo. My service plan was $45/mo, 100 min. free and $0.20/min. afterwards, so it seems that they feel you Houstonians have deeper pockets. Anyway, the quality of the PCS calls is substantially better than my previous analog cellular service through Southwestern Bell. I could not go two miles with the old service without getting horrible static or dropping out. The Qualcomm phone sounds almost like a regular phone with only an occasional minor amount of echo.

The dealer that sold me the phone said that they have had a very heavy level of interest in PrimeCo PCS service. When I asked about Southwestern Bell's "digital PCS" (which they also carried), the salesperson just snickered. By the way, what exactly is SW Bell's Digital PCS anyway? One down side to PrimeCo's service as far as some people I've talked to is the fact that you cannot use the phones in rural areas or interstate roads outside the major cities. People like to have the safety blanket if their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere.
