More Cyrix GX information:

techweb.com

It disclosed that TWO U.S. majar PC makers will use GX for NC project on Feb. The 4 BIOS partners are FIC, LG, Mitac and Tatung. If Compaq is to announce and start shipments on GX base NC on Feb. 10th, Cyrix has to start the GX shipment as soon as early December, 1996.

One thing that I am not comfortable with is the pricing of GX sets at $75~$80. It is too high. Cyrix should low the price to the degree that makes themselves as the only game in town for Windows Network Computers/Student PC/affordable notebooks. Cyrix should lower the GX price to force everyone to use GX to maintain their competition factor. Feedback by its own success, then, there will be no necessory to drop the GX price for the next 3 years. I would consider a net profit of $20~$25 would be great for Cyrix and its shareholders.

Fuchi ... who loves Cyrix's innovations
