Hey Steve,

My estimate is based on a very crude method. Won't be surprised if I'm wrong.

Last year, same store sales were down 6.8%. In 98Q1, they were down 3.9% on lower sales, but Q2 had total sales higher by almost 2% and same store sales up 2.9%, both quarters having 10% fewer stores than year before Q's. Hopefully Q2 was not an anomoly, but a trend. I hope the 7 percentage point jump in same store sales Q to Q means more people are shopping at the men's depts, and word of mouth is spreading. If so, could it be possible that Q3 will be 10% same store sales growth thanks to men's depts and gifts?

I've been so wrong before, but still hopin'!
