<<See Jesse on Leno last night?>>

No, unfortunately. Never watch Leno (or much TV in general). But it is a pity -- I would have liked to have heard that famous voice. For that matter, I regret not having heard any of the Lewinsky/Tripp tapes, which I gather were all over Cable TV yesterday. The voice, after all, is a wide-open window to the essential personality (or the soul, as we used to say).

I will say this, however. All that talk about Monica's grievance against Tripp, for betraying her. (And, yes, it was a betrayal.) In the long run, perhaps she should thank Tripp. After all, if it had not been for Tripp, Monica would never have snagged a million-dollar book contract. She would still be what is called a "nobody". And now she is a "somebody"....

Ugh, how tacky this whole thing has been...
