Richard, I'm guess I'm a little surprised at your vehement response. Clearly your anger must stem from something more significant than the wording of a press release. However, as defined by The American Heritage Dictionary, a center is "a place where a particular activity or service is concentrated." I assure you, that is exactly what will take place at the CIDD. The activity will be the mining of Pharmacopeia's database of structure-activity relationships to enhance MSI software. The hiring of a professor does not make this strictly an "academic environment". Clearly a company who employs as many Ph.D.s as Pharmacopeia does has an academic feel but you can rest assured that we are running a business aimed at enhancing shareholder value. Sue Rodney
