Not too long after reading the preceding post on the power grid, a guy walked in the office looking for a piece of property. I got out the quads and was showing him the general overview of location and prices. After a few minutes of discussion, and based on his comments/questions, I had to ask him, "Are you looking for a y2k site?" Turns out that is very much what he had in mind.

Turns out also that he has a contract to remove generators from remote radio towers as per EPA requirements, converting them to propane/natural gas and selling them. Top of the line, spare no expense, 50 year govt. contract, heavy duty industrial grade generators. I signed-up for one pending inspection, and he went off to look at some "remote" property.

I also called a few nearby neighbors and gave them the contact information. There's security in having stable neighbors.
