It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Will the
big guys like Merrill simply buyout an existing online company
like MorganStanleyDean Witter did or will they start their own.
How will they prevent someone from having an account with a broker
and get all the advice and research and then buy most of their
stock at a discounter?
If I had a guess, I would say they will gravitate to asset
management on a fee basis and everyone will be dealing at the
discount window..... Sorta Like WalMart did in retailing...gil
