Brain,

These are great stat's, but what good are they when a good portion of the country has a problem logging onto AOL. I quess you do not understand the power consumers have. I bet 60% or more of the current and new customers of AOL are looking to get out. Thus, you may see a little upside on AOL for a bit. But it will fall just as fast when a good portion of the client base starts bailing. Also alot of people I talked to that currently have AOL, are so "p'ed off" at AOL they may even pass that anger onto the advertisers by not buying their products.

Also, I disagree when you stated that their will only be a few large on-line services when all is said and done. It is just the opposite, every ma bell and baby bell in the country is or will soon be offering internet (Web) services at equal price with better response time and 2x speed rates and local advertising for business. The only diffrence between AOL and the local internet services is the local firms do not have the ability to have their software ship with every new PC sold in America. I feel America's pc users are getting smarter and the word of mouth will be bringing Ton's of business to local internet providers with the local baby bells getting a good portion of it.

Thus, I hope AOL does go higher so I can either short it or place some puts (if available) on it.
