South Voisey Bay selected assay results Donner Minerals Ltd DML Shares issued 31,689,657 Nov 18 close $0.31 Wed 18 Nov 98 News Release Also Cypress Minerals Corp (CYP) Also Major General Resources Ltd (MGJ) Also Northern Abitibi Mining Corp (NAI) Mr. Harvey Keats reports SOUTH VOISEY BAY PROJECT Since commencement of drilling in May, approximately 14,000m of drilling have been completed in 37 new holes and five deepened holes, with 10 holes drilled since the progress report in Stockwatch Sept. 24, 1998. The table below lists selected assay results in 1997 and 1998 drilling programss and illustrates the variability in the nickel and copper grades and tenor (nickel and copper recalculated to 100 per cent sulphide). Four drill holes (97-67, 97-75, 97-97 and 98-131) have nickel tenors greater 2 per cent, several holes have nickel tenors between 1 per cent and per cent and several holes have nickel tenors less than 1 per cent. With the exception of the high grade massive sulphides in the footwall gneisses in 97-75 and 98-131, all of the intersections are contained within widespread blanket mineralization at the base of the gabbro. This flat lying blanket mineralization is highly conductive and is detected by in-loop pulse EM. In hole 98-131, on the Northern Abitibi/Donner joint venture high-grade semi-massive sulphides were encountered at the base of the gabbro (4.5 per cent Ni, 2.6 per cent Cu, 0.28 per cent Co over 0.2m) and massive sulphides in the footwall gneiss (3.4 per cent Ni, 0.5 per cent Cu, 0.46 per cent Co over 0.3m). These results and the variability in nickel grade and tenor encourages management to continue to explore for thicker high grade mineralization throughout the South Voisey Bay project. Management believes results to date demonstrate that the project has the potential to host a high grade nickel-copper sulphide deposit comparable to Voisey's Bay. The continuing PEM geophysical survey is nearing completion. The original region gravity survey coverage is now complete. Additional traverses of regional gravity are being carried out on the east portion of the South Voisey's Bay project to extend coverage to the suture zone. Work in the suture area, including limited drilling, has encouraged Donner to plan a systematic exploration program for this region in 1999, in addition to continued exploration in the North Gabbro and South Gabbro and extensions beneath the overlying gneisses. It is expected that drilling will continue with one drill rig on the South Voisey Bay project until mid-December, with additional holes to be drilled on the Donner/Northern Abitibi, Donner/Major General and Donner/Cypress joint ventures. Donner will also be drilling, as contractor, on ground held by the Labrador Nickel Syndicate. Upcoming drilling will continue to test PEM anomalies and extensions to known favourable geology.
