<< I think its clear that Voodoo 3 is Banshee 2, not the real Next Generation chip. Considering that its really B2, they outdid our highest original expectation for a B2 chip. >>

3dfx only commited to making an AGP 2x Banshee2 for 2Q99. The actual specs are way above anything anyone was predicting. This isn't rampage folks, and no amount of wishing will make it so. Tony T. makes it sound like there could be Glide issues with 32 bit. Anyway, the performance increasse is much more than I expected.

Chip and I actually did a few rounds when I started complaining about the late release dates for these products (Rampage and Banshee2) and Banshee2 not even being that much improved. Well it would appear that Chip won that part of the argument. It looks like 3dfx is still a moving target. I don't see any reason why 3dfx can't hit the same timeframe for Voodoo3 as they did for Voodoo2. That would put the release in mid March. The hard part is completed. They just need to ramp production which is where TSMC comes in. 19 days sounds good to me. Any takers for February?
