Feel free to deviate from the topic of food. I just like relating the rest of the world around me metaphorically to food. That dinner sounded great.

Several years ago I got turned onto Robert B. Parker's Spenser for hire novels. I found one rather common subject in all of his books, food. I notice that when I read them I usually end up in the kitchen book in one hand and a piece of pie and a cup of tea next to me. That is one of the problems I have with Emerils show coming on at 9:00 where I live. I start thinking about cooking after I have already cleaned up the kitchen and had dinner.

One night I ended up making Blanquette Du Veau, and excellent veal dish. It was a success, the kitchen smelled wonderful and I was exhausted. For some reason the idea that it serves 12 did not occur to me at the time though. However, it stores very well in the freezer.
