You must be reading too fast. I think you need to re-read my posts. I never said that stock splits don't affect the short term price of a stock. In fact, they almost always do. However, since the fundamentals of a company do not change based on a split, there is no reason why a split will affect the long term price or value of the stock. I think it is you who needs to revisit Intel's last split. It did run up about 10 points in the short term. It then began to decline for about 6-8 months before bottoming out at 49 back in early 1996. IOM also had a major run-up after their last split. The stock now trades at less than half the post split price.
