I love Key Lime pie as well, and try to get to the keys at least once a year for the good stuff and some fishing. In my opinion the best Key Lime pie is at Joe's Stone Crab in south Miami. If you don't know the restaurant it is quite a place to visit. I think Borders has a copy of their cookbook with the restaurants history in it. I will get mine out and post the restaurants history if you are interested. Lots of Costra Nostra, big old balding Italian guys with young women. The place specializes in stone crabs as you probably can tell from the name. Lots of butter and mustard sauce, and the most wonderful sweet potato French fries.

I figured you left off apple pie for a reason. I believe you are right about apple pie, I think it is English. I do like the phrase though, "As American as Key Lime pie."
