Re block trades.

The one thing that was missing from that block-trade summation was the number of shares that those block accounted for.

223 (or whatever) block trades could mean anywhere from 2.23 Million shares and up. On a day where you have 16 Million shares changing hands, that is still a lot of shares not moving in blocks.

Let's say the block trades accounted for 4 Million shares, with institutions picking up another 2 Million in here and there trades.. that still leave 10 Million that were MOM & POP buying. or to put in into nerd terms 37.5% instituions and 62.5% normal people.

Also block trades can also be block sells.
