Thanks David. I appreciate your good-will. The pain-killers really do help, one miracle of modern medicine! The first time I had an operation, I'm certain it was more painful afterwards than this, yet this is a more significant operation. Yet I'm spending a few hours out of bed each day, okay. My elderly mother just had surgery a few months ago, also, and though it was cancer, it was done on an outpatient basis; amazing. (She's doing fine).
You're probably right about the price of the stock and what will happen in the next month or so, though I've seen more and more companies sell off in Sept and Oct, and recover in Nov and Dec,, in recent years I learned this the hard way, Years ago, I sold a company off in November, thinking to buy it back in late Dec, but before the 30 days required for taking the tax loss passed, the stock had bounced up! Difficult to be certain when a company will go back up on the buy-backs, or news, or just on one person coming in and buying a large portion for their portfolio..
I won't bother answering anyone at the moment who's obviously taking advantage of the fact I'm ill to attack me, thinking I won't respond. Well, okay, I guess I will.... starting with pointing out to the intelligent that someone working for a company can post on the SI board, and there would be no reason to not acknowledge that they are doing so. The exception, and I've seen it on other boards, is when one person spends all day under many names posting and posting to temporarily get the price of the stock up; it's not a two year thing, it's usually a few weeks at most. And I'm obviously only one person. If I was doing as I've been accused, I'd have been in and out a year ago, easily. And then have come back, with a new name or something. Jeez, the bashers really ought to use their heads a little to figure out the obvious.
Funny thing is, listening to Zonkie and pr and gh et al, I find that I don't really care if they aren't doing well. This is new for me, a different state of mind (maybe the pain-killers, you think?) Probably because they are actually blaming me for their mistakes in investing; I've pointed out in post after post that I'm giving my opinion, what else could I be doing? Do they think I'm a prophet? I've pointed this out so often I guess I stopped doing it on a regular basis, thinking anyone would be smart enough to understand this. And I've stated over and over for people to do their own due diligence. I'm concerned with telling it as I see it, particularly for those responsible adults who bought for long-term (I regret thinking short-termers could make some cash a while back... I got that one wrong, for certain.) and I don't want to see people sell just because it's taken more time than expected. Assuming they are long-term investors, it would be unfortunate. But, it's their decision. I MAY BE WRONG, BUT I BELIEVE I'M RIGHT. And I believe those who want to sell can sell in a way that gives them a better price... I posted the how of that earlier, after paying careful attention to the trading patterns..
I guess I don't understand the gh's and zonkie's and pr's and such of the world; I bought Jmar based partly on what a people said (I did my DD, talked to the CEO, etc, but I still felt it was all greek to me, so to speak), and put a lot of stock in what the posters were saying. And it did in fact go up, but then down -- I sold it like Abbeydale did this one, at a small profit. But why would I accuse the supporters of that thread of anything? I didn't, still don't. Their ship went down, too. And I'll be the first to admit, that company still has great potential, though % wise, I think (especially at these prices) AQB is going to be a much bigger gainer... but I wouldn't, as I've said before, invest money that I was going to need immediately, because although it might go to the moon in a week, it might not do it for many weeks. And there might still be some rocks in the road, for all I know. Of course, and here's the amazing part, this is true for buying any stock! Are some of these guys/gals really buying thinking there will be no ups and downs? Are they buying a penny stock, or are they buying dreams of pie in the sky??? I remember when IBM was at $42, and everyone was saying it was over for them. The ones who knew about rough roads and sticking with the facts bought more shares, and made out extremely well. The ones upset with today's price of AQB probably haven't heard of buy low, sell high: if it's low, time to buy. I don't mean to say no one should be upset that the price went down as much as it did, especially if they needed the money at precisely that time; but I can't believe anyone would fault me for it -- except I've seen the posts here to that effect. Wow. Amazing.
I still suspect some of these "others" of being buyers, but I don't know. It makes no sense to spend their time here, just to say mean things to someone... but then, there are mean people in the world. But I favor the likelihood some of them are buying... hey, I was talking about how great the stock was long ago, and buying at the same time others were. I've bought also when others where selling, even as I was saying this one will eventually work out well, imho, and not one to be selling.. You see (and I know you do, David, this is for the others) I don't play the game of trying to scare people into selling to me; and when I was selling Jmar, I posted only what I believed. The x's of the world probably don't understand that fair play has got me, and a lot of people, much further than they would imagine, even though bad things do happen to good people, too.. I hope it continues to be a world in which doing ones best brings rewards for all of us. And the slough will eventually fall by the wayside.
Wow, gh is right about one thing. I am an optimist!!!
Hmmm, looks like I'm even wordier when I'm on pain medication! Who could have known?!
Take care all, good luck in all your investments.
