I have a Jaz, not a SyJet, but I'm interested in some comparative answers too.

Neither Syjet or Jaz is the best (cheapest) backup solution, they are both designed more for off-line access of extra data and programs.

Yes, but so can the Jaz... According to iomega, the minimum sustained transfer rate for the Jaz should be around 3.5Meg, and the one I have is certainly as fast as an average Hard Drive.

The SyJet was designed to be as easy to load as the Jaz, older drives had a lever that you could use to lock down the cart in the drive; but the newer drives do that automatically as part of the loading process. |
