I have a Jaz, not a SyJet, but I'm interested in some comparative answers
too.

Neither Syjet or Jaz is the best (cheapest) backup solution, they are both
designed
more for off-line access of extra data and programs.

that?

Yes, but so can the Jaz... According to iomega, the minimum sustained
transfer rate for the Jaz should be around 3.5Meg, and the one I have is
certainly as fast
as an average Hard Drive.

The SyJet was designed to be as easy to load as the Jaz, older drives had
a lever
that you could use to lock down the cart in the drive; but the newer
drives do that
automatically as part of the loading process.
