SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1998--Splash
Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPLH.O), an international supplier of color
servers designed to transform color copiers into high-quality printers
and prepress proofing systems, announced that its new Splash M Series
color servers are now being shipped to customers.
The new Splash M Series features Splash's DiamondPress
compression technology which enables document printing and printing at
engine-rated speeds, while maintaining the highest quality. Based on
the color advancements found in Splash's PCI and DC Series, the new
products also include a full range of color management technologies,
as well as Splash ColorCal calibration. Splash ColorCal performs
accurate color calibration without the use of a densitometer.
The Splash M310 color server, which employs the Intel(R)
Pentium(R) II processor running at 300 MHz, is designed for the
corporate environment; while the Splash M410 color server, which uses
the Intel Pentium II processor running at 400 MHz, is geared for the
quick printing and corporate reprographics markets. Both products are
designed for current midrange Xerox color copier/printers including
the Xerox DocuColor 5799, the Xerox DocuColor 5750, and the Xerox
5790. The Splash M410 color server also features DiamondMerge Variable
Data Printing, Splash's innovative printing advancement that allows
users to generate personalized output quickly and efficiently,
employing any application on any connected platform.
Built around Intel's 440BX AGPset, the Splash M310 and Splash
M410 color servers take advantage of the latest high-speed RAM and
system bus technologies. As with all other Splash color servers, the
Splash M Series offers robust network protocol support, including IPX,
TCP/IP, and AppleTalk. Multiple protocols are supported simultaneously
for quick and seamless integration into mixed platform environments.
The Splash M310 and Splash M410 color servers support printing from
Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX workstations.
Splash products are sold worldwide through Xerox. Certain models
and configurations are limited to specific geographic locations. The
Splash M310 color server is $10,495 US list. The Splash M410 color
server is $18,500 US list.
