BYND & DRIV are NOT competitors.

BYND is an online software retailer while DRIV is an e-commerce outsource provider which enables software companies and retailers to market online.

BYND has its own website where it sells software products. DRIV provides the infrastructure for software developers (ie: Lotus, IBM, Broderbund, Electronic Arts) to sell either through ESD means or physical delivery. DRIV also enables e-tailers (ie: Cyberian Outpost, Qualcomm, USA Today) to market through their online stores.

DRIV does not sell any products via its own website. Rather it gets a commission on every sale performed at other companies' websites which are part of the Digital River Network.

To answer your question, they are not direct competitors but they are indirect competitors in that BYND is not part of the DRIV Network. I agree that they both will benefit by the growing pie of software sales being transacted online.
