Howdy

I happen to be another one of those usually silent thread followers...

A good explanation of Tiverton's recent rise might be due to the following :

CALGARY, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - TIVERTON PETROLEUMS LTD. has completed a private placement of 1,312,500 units at $0.40 per unit, each unit consisting of one common flow-through share and one warrant to purchase a further common share at $0.44 per share expiring June 30, 1997. Proceeds of $525,000 will be used to follow up exploration success with development wells. An industry partner has recently cased a well on another of Tiverton's large exploration plays. The well is a tight hole.

... Not really sure what the "tight hole" part exactly means, but selling a large chunk of shares like that is bound to catch some peoples interest.
