Because enterprise software which used to entirely run on unix servers has moved to NT. Now we have a choice for a lot of midsize enterprise apps - Sun/unix vs. Dell(or cpq)/NT. As a software person, I see them as competitors. To be honest I have no real preference of operating system at this time.
