Jim, this is fun. I also like the idea of talkative vending machines and gas pumps as put forth here by Taichi and others. How about PetTracs? There are many pet owners who would sleep alot better at night knowing that they can always keep tabs on little Fido and Princess. And why limit the household use to just turning outdoor lights on and off. For years I've been reading about household computers running everything from the dishwasher to the furnace and coffee pot. So. . . Imagine being able to turn some outdoor or indoor houselights on from anywhere, or being able to turn the heat up or down or the air conditioner on or off half hour before you get home or wake up. Or program your lawn to water itself while you are away. And how about medical monitoring? The signal could go to a control station and to a doctor's cell phone or pager or ????? Don't really know enough about those systems to even guess. But there must be some sort of useful application in that area.
