Byron,

You are ,of course, free to buy whatever stock that you chose.

My comments were directed more to McNealy's frequent taunting of Gates since at least 1991. He has viewed Microsoft as his most visible and successful competitor. My perception of his attitude is more one of jealousy over the fact that Gates is a larger than life figure in the industry while he has always been viewed as a somewhat adolescent and tyrannical CEO without any particular technical vision or capcities of his own beyond his position at Sun.

The truth is that his holdings are a mere 1% of Bill Gates wealth.
His holdings are also a mere 5% of Michael Dell's wealth.
So McNealy is simply not a big figure among the movers and shakers.

As to SUN's future. Their growth rates in revenues, earnings, and earning's per share do not support their current stock price. Also, their future prospects for growth in those areas given their current business model do not support their current price. Huge competition looms on the horizon for SUN.

DELL's stock is a much better bargain than Sun's stock in my opinion.

Regards,

Jim Kelley
