I do not necissarily agree with Jim's conclusion, but I do aggree with his observations that there have been a marked change in the academic purchasing of workstations away from Sun workstations. This does mean something to Sun.

Also, do not forget there is the DEC Alpha machine with an archetecture IMO that will prove to be more scalable than the current Sun CPU architecture.

Still, I am not drawing any conclusions at this point.
