I agree that both market share and profit are important goals. Finding the right price to maximize profit is always a challage: Price too high and the profit per unit is high, but the total profit is low as the volume is low (like the 6x86 last April), or Price too low and the volume is great but the profit is low because the profit per unit is too small (like the 6x86 now). I think that a price for the two chip set between $50 and $80 is certainly reasonable, but I couldn't tell you which extreme will give the highest profit. I'll be happy with volume of 3m units per year, if they can do it, but of course 11m would be better.
