Craig,
I am adding to mine for several reasons. Reason #1 - I found the following comments in Briefing.Com this morning:

We are dispensing with our normal format today to provide our readers with another "Briefing Ten." Today's group represents our third such effort and we are pleased to report that the first two were quite successful... Our original Briefing 10 appeared on 6/9... It was a list of 10 tech stocks we though offered attractive upside potential at the time... By 7/17, 9 out of 10 stocks were up for an average gain of 35%, handily beating the major market indices over the same time frame. We issued another Breifing 10 at that time... Well as you know the market peaked shortly thereafter and techs got hammered... Not
surprisingly, the second Briefing 10 started off slowly... But, led by AOL and Yahoo! the group has rallied back sharply, and as of yesterday's close 7 of the 10 issues were up for an average gain of 20.2%... Over the same four months, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are down by 3.3% and 5.2%, respectively... For the record, the three issues posting declines were Airtouch (ATI - 11.2%), Lucent (LU -3.8%) and Tellabs (TLAB -35.5%).

The new "Briefing 10"

1.America Online (AOL 83 3/4): Has now led off each of the lists and why not... AOL remains one of the top brand names on the Internet, and despite recent run up in price is "cheap" relative to the industry... Management continues to execute... Potential for international
expansion huge... Yesterday's 2-for-1 stock split also good news... Next stop 100.

Reason #2 You've Got Mail - The Movie
A romantic comedy during Christmas starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. It's almost too perfect. Another Sleepless in Seattle. Only this time it's an advertisement for AOL as well. After this movie plays half the women who see it will want to go online with AOL to be just like Meg. Lots of folks go to movies during the holidays for something to do. I think this one will be big and bring a lot of customers in, not kids but adults with money.

Reason #3 Christmas Computer Sales
Sales of personal computers to first time buyers is expected to be brisk. The great thing about AOL is that we don't care how expensive or cheap the computer is or whether it's a PC or a Mac, they all come with AOL. I have three teenagers in my house and two of them use AOL everyday to talk to their friends who they see all day in school or live next door to - go figure. The point is kids love AOL and if their friends are on it, they want to be on it too. Peer pressure is a great thing in this case. First time buyers, especially if they have kids who can use a computer, will at least start with AOL.
