Sam,

Thanks for your comments. I'm sure it appears that I am overcomplicating things - and I'd appreciate suggestions how to avoid that.

You are right. I have a YWR.lst file containing IBD list stocks. In each scan, I have the line INPUT="C:YWR.lst", so I only scan about 300 stocks.

Multiple scans create multiple lists. My goal is to:

1) get rid of extras, so that I can place the data for the stocks identified in those scans into one place for further exploration by MSWIN. My problem was that QP-Output Metastock blows up if I have the same file identified in more than one scanlist, and I try to transfer them separately. It also doesn't manage any order in the list of "charts" that it creates - got confusing for me.

2) give myself a way to identify overlap between multiple lists. This includes weekly YWRyymmdd.lst files which can be combined into a master list. (Joshua keeps an excel spreadsheet to keep an eye on this).

I decided that I would keep the QP scans separate from one another (rather than mulch them together into one big scan).

Cheers,
Paul
