T*...R, Well that was vapoware in action. Jerry was desperately trying to keep some OEMs on board. Truth would have been better than the lies and promises he promulgated.
I think we are on safer ground here. the lines are tuned and running well at good yield, now if only the silicon is bug free and works they have a good shot for next year. Even Jerry has had to mute his tune after getting read the riot act by some OEMs. You can string the hobbyist along as well as the screwdriver shop, but major OEMs need a known production timetable that is realistic.
What a blessing the late summer shortage was as it made them all try AMD when Intel could not deliver parts. What a blunder by Intel.
(of course now we will have the spin doctor with his gyroscopic sense running sideways trying to retroactively smooth that event)
