11/19 04:41 Jakarta stocks make further gains on steady rupiah

JAKARTA, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Jakarta stocks gained further on Thursday as expectations of a continued steady rupiah kept
sentiment firm particularly on debt-ridden blue chips, brokers said.

The composite index ended up 9.13 points, or 2.47 percent, at 379.12 points on Thursday after rising 13.77 points on
Wednesday.

Total turnover was estimated at 374 billion rupiah.

"Expectations that the rupiah would remain steady over the longer-term kept sentiment firm," one broker said.

Among the gainers were blue chips Telkom <TLKM.JK>, cigarette maker Sampoerna <HMSP.JK> and Indofood
<INDF.JK>.
