JDN-I read the several responses to your query re: waxing and polishing. Can't really add much. I too use the 3M glaze and Meguiers wax (yellow caranauba) and only apply and buff by hand. I have both an orbital and a rotary buffer, but have never been able to successfully avoid swirl marks with any kind of machine polishing. I use well laundered baby diapers (bought specifically for this purpose) and apply and buff on a line parallel to the vehicle. Straight line marks are much less visible than circular ones. BTW, the current object of my obsession is a red '91 MR2 Turbo which just turned 20k on the clock. (I bought it '96 from the original owner with 8900 documented miles.) It has been garaged and covered since new. Red MR2's (along with several other colors) have no clear coat, and can really be buffed to a great shine. Later, billwot
