RE: I still can't figure out why this company can't make it in such a great industry. One word. Vision. Former CEO Sollman did not think that NT was going anywhere, and hence ignored the growing NT VM market on the CPE low-end. The company produced one of the first integrated voice-email around 1990, and since has never exploited the technology (the vision thing). CGRM is the only major company with no UM story at all. The Series 6 has one of the most innovative uses of multi-initiator SCSI ever, but upto now has only been tapped for 240 ports. The current Series 6 architecture can support 480 as has been proven (could have been done 2 years ago). New HW in the works would have upped that capacity beyond 1000 ports. And the list goes on. This was to have been an exciting time for CGRM. both a 1000+ port system and an NT system were in the works and would be in trials by now. Alas, the NT part was sold (or given away, we should say), and the 1000 port HW upgrade project got killed. Vision. If only this company had visionary leadership.
