compliments of the ubiquitous Philip Merryman. It seems the radio frequency police [Wireless Telecommunications Bureau] aren't totally happy with NextWave, but it looks like good compliance behaviour will help. Then NextWave can go ahead with their 1Q share issue.

Ramsey, I'm so envious of you people running round with your CDMA phones. Still, all grist to the Qualcomm profit mill. Big expenses continuing, but big revenues rolling in. Bill Frezza is in total disarray though I'd say he did a pretty good job of holding the line. He is now reduced to the idea of a subscriber scoreboard. That sounds good until somebody starts tracking market shares too and he will see CDMA share leaping ahead while GSM sags. Oh dear, Bill setting himself up for another loss.

Just as well it's raining there or the bubblegum holding the chicken wire together might melt. 500 in a couple of weeks doesn't sound much for a city of millions and the prices everyone is quoting sound way too expensive. If NextWave is serious about competing with wireline, you can expect some dramatic per minute price reductions over a year or two. This is mass market technology, not for the elite with money to burn.

Maybe my new found friend, Delightful Dotage Delores [DDD] will be able to comment.
