Byron, This is the performance comparison of the two companies: techstocks.com Both companies have had the stability in the CEO office. But look at the results of the 5 years of operations. Sun has fostered a cult of arrogance while DELL has been simply delivering great product to the customer and growing enormously faster than Sun. Interestingly, Meredith came from Sun. What an enormous loss to Sun. The JAVA battle is not yet over and I suspect in the end MSFT will come out with its own replacement for JAVA rather than deal with Sun. Perhaps, MSFT will license HP's version of JAVA.
