All:Thursday CBS 11-19-98:Grain Commentary:Corn, soybeans react to export sales data

Soybean futures headed south as the USDA reported weekly sales of 361,700 metric tons, which was down from 363,900 last week and 100,000 metric tons below expectations. On the Chicago Board of Trade, January soybeans fell 2.4 cents to $5.820 per contract.

Corn was unable to hold on to an early rally, sparked by USDA reports that net sales of corn were at 1,510,000 metric tons, which is 94 percent above the previous week. At the close, December corn fell 1.0 cents to $2.202 per contract.
