Looking ahead to expirations, I tallied the open interests in Jan options by strike price to see what I could learn. There are only a handfull of puts at 145-160, & not many more 135-140 -- but thousands of calls up thru 160. Even at 130 the calls outnumber puts by 13300 to 11025. Found nothing above 160 (am I missing something ?)

If the "MMs" can influence the price as was discussed mid-Nov in this thread, then isn't the above imbalance a temptation to them to nudge it towards 140, 135, or (shudder) 130?? If so, might this be a basis for the popular prediction here for a pullback right after earnings? Also, you noted how quiet the options market has been; any chance it will heat up Mon or Tues, changing the balance?

I'm new to a stock like INTC that can be so options-driven around expiration day. It's still a mystery to me, and I'm trying hard to learn. Any insight provided will be much appreciated.
