Gerald I agree that the present front projection market is quite small. As I said I know nothing about rear projection units, so I cannot honestly compare them. I do know that there are a lot out there. I can honestly say that I have seen a JVC unit sold only in Japan that was quite interesting. I did not see it at CES.

My personal belief is that the price point where the market goes crazy is $3000. I think that $8000 is too expensive for what I saw. I believe that a very important element is surround sound. There are several good two speaker solutions out there. PJTV should have this. I think that the tractor applications for home theater are big sound and good software. Current TV won't do it, VHS won't do it. Laser Disk or DVD will. The confusing ramp of DVD has stalled the entire market. I don't expect DVD to begin to succeed until PC's start to incorporate them next Christmas. DVD or Laser add another $1000 to the cost of big screen. There is nil DVD software out there. I don't see Web TV as a big draw. Band width is a real problem.
